Questions we Think you may want to ask.

As a curious person and deep thinker, I have noticed through my own health journey that I go home after appointments and ponder all the “BUT WHY” questions and the “I WONDER’s”.  I may not come up with the question at the moment of the discussion, but with some time, curiosity strikes.  I started thinking, “what do I wish people would ask me about chiropractic?”  How simple would this be if I could lend you my brain for a moment so you could download the knowledge I have?  Only the chiro knowledge…everything else is noise lol.  I hope this helps clear up some questions you have had that either has not come up in conversation or you have been nervous to ask.

These answers are very honest and my philosophy on health and healing.  Please read with an open mind and curiosity yourself.  The health journey you are on is your own, so it needs to be congruent to who you are and what your beliefs are.  Let’s remove the noise and create clarity on what is happening before, during, and after your appointments.

“Why do you keep talking about the nervous system?  I don’t care about all that.  Just fix my back please!”

Are you tired of the cycle of feeling better for a while, then the same issue returns with time?  So, we try to fix it again, then it returns?  Me too!  I was so frustrated with recurring issues, recurring thoughts, recurring self-sabotage, recurring poor habits, recurring stomach aches, and recurring pain.

The nervous system connects all the dots.  It regulates every system and function within the body; it is the source.  I would rather work with the nervous system than any of the other systems in the body, for example muscular, skeletal, cardiovascular, etc. because it directly and holistically contributes to your overall health.  We can impact every function of the body by working on the efficiency and performance of the nervous system.  That is the foundation and philosophy behind the kind of chiropractic care we provide.

Yes, we care about your pain, but we are not following symptoms when it comes to your chiropractic care.  We are interrupting these annoying cycles that keep happening.  When addressing the actual cause, which is usually an imbalance in the nervous system, the body starts to heal itself.  Once we have balance within this master system, we reassess your health goals.  Maybe your pain will be gone at that time, maybe not.  I hope so, but sometimes we must keep digging!  That’s the joy of the journey!

“I have been to multiple chiropractors, and you all do something a little different.  Why is that?  Is there a best way?”

Chiropractic is a combination of art, philosophy, and science.  Along with most professions, the art is what gives individuality to the actual technique.  I believe the best way a chiropractor can do the work is to make sure they are congruent on the why.  If they can truly know what they are doing is the best way to work with the people in front of them, then it probably is the best they can do.

There are a lot of chiropractors out there, and many do a tremendous job.  I have chosen the holistic approach to impact lives by addressing the nervous system. (I like efficiency😊) Find the chiropractor that jives with you and your health goals.  My goal is an overall high-functioning body that can adapt to the stresses of life and continue to flourish!  So, people who want that too will get along well here😊

“Why do you use an instrument sometimes, then your hands at a different time?”

There are different states the nervous system takes when it is no longer balanced.  There are over-aroused, under-aroused, unstable, and exhausted states.  Depending on the state that is dominant for you, we must change our adjusting force.  If you have an overstimulated nervous system, we will want to use less force with the adjustment. Why would we overstimulate an already overstimulated nervous system?  If I yell at someone who is already crying, do you think they would stop crying?  Probably not.  Same here.  An instrument allows for a variety of forces to be introduced into the nervous system, so sometimes it is the most ideal method.

Stay tuned for more answers to your curiosities. If you have a specific question, I will try to answer it here. If you have the question, most likely others are also wondering the same thing.
