Gratitude and Wellness

Saying you are grateful and feeling grateful are 2 different things.  Sometimes, it is an effort to mutter grateful words, yet alone feel it.  I wanted to share some tips to feel gratitude in your body.  The more you practice feeling gratitude in your body, it becomes familiar to you and easier to access through the hard times.  The feeling of gratitude will release the anxiety and fears we often feel that disrupts our wellbeing, intelligence, decision making skills, and peace.  Who doesn’t want more peace in their bodies??

Grateful Motions

Change your physiology, change your mind…a quote by Tony Robbins.  By performing motions of gratitude, confidence, happiness, etc. your brain picks up the cues and begins to shift its neurochemistry to be more positive.  Use your body to trick your brain into being grateful.  Instead of frowning, relax your brow and smile.  Stand and pull your shoulders down and back.  Place your hand over your heart or even tap your heart to ignite gratitude through your body.  Write a thank you to a loved one, feeling the gratitude from pen to paper.  This is about doing.

 Frankincense

Essential oils are a great tool to bring you to the present using one of your 5 senses, smell.  This powerful aroma has been used to help open the heart. It is a oil used often in spirituality because of its high vibrancy and therapeutic benefits.  Mix a drop with your favorite carrier oil (coconut oil) and rub it over your sternum and at the top of your head.  Don’t forget to take some deep breaths, smelling the full aroma.

Priming

An exercise developed by Tony Robbins.  Follow the video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faTGTgid8Uc&t=2s

Practice it a few times, and then you can adapt it to your own style, however, I would spend time in the video for a while before going on your own, especially if meditation is new to you.

 Brain Tap

Brain Tap is an app that helps restore balance in the brain and stimulate meditation by using different sounds and frequencies, along with words that help you tap into your subconscious mind.  There are many different sessions to choose from within the Brain Tap, however some of our favorites that pertain specifically to gratitude are:

Take Charge with a Strong Heart

               Gratitude, Acceptance, and Clarity
