When do you feel your most calm? Do you ever feel an inner calm? These are important questions for you to answer. Not only for your mental health, but also for your physical health.

I will be honest the only time I felt an inner calm was when I was outside hiking, gardening, or even just sitting in the sun on the porch. It was hard for me to achieve calm in the hustle and bustle of daily living.

Personal Tips:

  1. I know you have heard me mention diaphragm breathing many times, but it can be truly life altering. It has taken me from a moment of severe anxiety to peace in a matter of a few breaths.

  2. Take a mental moment of silence. This can be done through meditation or yoga. If you are not great at meditation, like me, we do have a meditation app at the office that we have found personally helpful. So let us know if that is something you’d want to try.

  3. Tell yourself some affirmations. You can do it silently in your head, or you can say them aloud. It was weird, at first, for me to say them out loud to myself. However, now it brings such a positive light to my day.
