Creating Habits That Stick

Setting goals is easy, but being consistent and achieving those goals and habits can be challenging at times. Below are several different ways to achieve your goals and make them super easy not only achieve but make them stick. Key factor about setting goals and habits, especially in the early days, is being CONSISTENT. If one way does not work for you, do not give up. Try the other ways first. One is going to work for you. It takes time and patience to find what works for you.

  • Step 1

  1. Pick out your goal from the bigger picture. Figure out who you are, visualize, being there, what you are wearing, what you are feeling, feel in your body.

  2. Do not compare yourself to who you were in the past. See yourself differently, the change.

  3. Embody the new you. SEE the new self. Focus on what you want to become.

  • Step 2

  1. Looking at the big picture, break it down. Who are they, who are they supporting, who do they benefit?

  2. Find out one smaller habit to contribute to the bigger goal. For example, if your goal is in finances, check your bank account every day.

  3. Stack the habit on top of another existing habit. Once you do habit stacking after every habit you do, say thank you. Show gratitude.

  • Step 3

  1. Make the habits easy to do every day.

  2. Figure out what your triggers are and why they keep you from doing good habits and reaching your goals.

  3. Be aware of your triggers or stresses. If off balance set reminders to make sure to stay on task. Find a way to move away from triggers.

  4. Accountability. Speak about your goals with others or download an app to help remind you to do habits every day. Be consistent.
